    Hi brownarch,

    Thanks for purchasing the theme!

    When you say custom background you mean like, images?
    You could add a different background for the site by adding some rules into the CSS box of the Theme Optioms >> Design tab.
    Let me know exactly what do you want to do, and I’ll try to paste those rules here.

    Cheers!

    I have an image that I would like to use as the background and I want it to function just like the built in ones.

    Thanks

    Well, most simple solution would be to upload that image (I’m assuming is a pattern, or texture, right?) to anywhere in your site’s server, or even to your WordPress uploads folder through the Media Manager, copy the URL of the image and then go to Theme Options >> Design tab, and in the custom CSS box add this rule:

    body {
        background: url('http://theURLforYOURimage.ext');
    }

    Currently the CSS box doesn’t allow for images’ URLs. I’m sending you via email now a little file updated to allow that, until it get’s into the next release.

    That is working perfectly now. What about the CSS rule?

    I inserted the css code as above and replaced the url of the image with the one from my site but still no go.  Just a white background.

    Hi Brad,

    I don’t know exactly what type of installation you have there. The admin is set on http://brown-architecture.com/wp/ but when you click to view the site it redirects to http://brown-architecture.com, and I don’t know what is causing that (perhaps a plugin? Perhaps you installed it on two different addresses?).

    Anyway, if you do enter here:

    http://brown-architecture.com/wp/

    …you’ll see the image is being loaded.

    Now I see it. Why your WordPress Address in Settings >> General is set to http://brown-architecture.com/wp?

    You have a weird setting for your WordPress address. It must probably be the plugin you are using for the Coming soon. If you are not logged in you can’t event see the site.

    Read my two previous comments to understand what is happening.

    I would suggest you deactivate the plugin, fill in a correct WP Address and then see what happens. At least for some minutes so you can know everything works as you want out of that plugin.

    Hi carlosg,

    Sorry about the delay on this answer, your question got lost on a previously resolved topic.

    Have you uploaded the image that you are calling on that css rule? If you want, send us login credentials to your WordPress installation via the contact form on this site and we’ll take a look.
