    Hi, great theme.

    When putting together my portfolio I am creating a slide gallery for each project. Is their anyway to exclude the featured image from the gallery set?

    Also I am having the same issue noliver701 posted about earlier:

    “1) Creating a Portfolio, i’ve done also a gallery to the single project. The problem is that under the text that explain the project, appears also miniature of the photo that are part of the gallery, and there is not only the text as shown in the example put on themeforest. net”

    I insert the images using the “insert media” and publish it. On the front end of the portfolio project where the description should be there is a thumbnail display of all the images in my post along with the full scale images to the left in the slider. In order to remove the thumbnail images from the description area I have to go back and remove all the media from my post. So once I remove the media in my post there are no thumbnails showing but the gallery for the project is showing even though there is no media in my post? How is this?

    Hi evansobz!

    Thanks for purchasing the theme!

    First, the thing with images appearing on the content side of the portfolio item showcase is truly not an issue as it is not the correct way to get that going. It has to do with inserting the images into the post after uploading, which you should not be doing. Take a look at the response for that same comment:

    The biggest probability is that you are clicking the “Insert into post” button. Keep in mind: To set the featured image for the portfolio item you click on the “Set featured image” button, upload a file and then click again on “Set as featured image”. For the gallery, just upload images through the “Add Media” button and do not insert them into the post just close the upload window and that’s it. If you see any image on the text editor for the post, the image will appear on the “right side” content too.

    Same thing here. When inserting images for a gallery you just have to upload them to the post, as in clicking the Add media button, upload them, even order them if you want and then don’t click on anything but the closing “X” or the “Close window” button. You should not be seeing those images on the content editor.

    Now… excluding the featured image from the gallery on portfolio items, go to the file named single-quadro_portfolio.php in the root folder of the theme. Find line number 86 and replace the code block that goes from 86 to 95 with this:

    < ?php $thumb_ID = get_post_thumbnail_id( $post->ID );
    $attachments = get_children( array(
        'post_parent' => get_the_ID(),
        'post_status' => 'inherit',
        'post_type' => 'attachment',
        'post_mime_type' => 'image',
        'order' => 'ASC',
        'orderby' => 'menu_order ID',
        'exclude' => $thumb_ID
        )
    );

    (please delete the blank space between the < and the ? at the beginning of the php statement, I don't seem to find the way to post that without separating it.)

    That should do the trick.

    If you are going to make changes to the code on the files of the theme, we strongly suggest you do that by creating a child theme, so you take care of the files and can easily update the theme when there is a new release.
    More info on creating child themes in these two links:

    Have a great week! :)
